| As Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Communications and Director of Communications Services, Stephen R. Janack is responsible for all internal and external communications regarding the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering and each of its affiliated organizations. He oversees development and implementation of media relations strategies, and works with his colleagues on CNSE's senior and executive staff to translate the College's vision, mission and objectives into a world-class communication drive.
Mr. Janack also serves as host and producer of CNSE's weekly television program, "NanoNow," which airs on FOX 23/WXXA-TV in the Capital Region market. "NanoNow" features interviews with leading elected officials and high-tech executives, segments that demonstrate the growing impact of nanotechnology on society and an inside look at cutting-edge science and research at the UAlbany NanoCollege.
Prior to joining CNSE, Mr. Janack served as senior vice president and chief communications officer at the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce. While at the Chamber, he served as president of the Business Services Corporation, the organization's for-profit entity responsible for revenue-generating member benefits. Mr. Janack also served as host of the television program "Tech Valley Report," which aired in Time Warner Cable's Albany Division. Prior to joining the Chamber, Mr. Janack spent 15 years as a broadcast journalist in New York's Capital Region. He is a graduate of St. John Fisher College in Rochester, where he received a B.A. in communications/journalism.
