The College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering participated in SEMICON West, the nanoelectronics' industry's leading trade show held July 15 through 17 in San Francisco, where more than 20,000 attendees from the nanotechnology, semiconductor and photovoltaic industries gathered to learn about the most critical business and technology trends.
CNSE was a featured exhibitor in the "NY Loves Nanotech" pavilion, which accommodated more than 100 New York State representatives from high-tech companies, economic development groups, academic institutions, and related organizations.
The buzz at the CNSE booth traveled all the way from the east coast where Governor David Paterson announced significant new investments by IBM and New York State. SEMICON West attendees from all over stopped by the CNSE booth to discuss and find out more information on this groundbreaking announcement.
In addition to fielding numerous questions on the recent IBM announcement, representatives were engaged by attendees in a steady stream of discussions about the NanoCollege's world-renowned academic program and plethora of unique public-private partnerships, as well as the capabilities of its unparalleled Albany NanoTech Complex. SEMICON West attracts the world's leading technology companies who are responsible for the innovations that drive today's most sophisticated consumer and commercial electronic products, including several of CNSE's partners, who also had displays at the event.
