Daily Gazette

Technology is getting a time slot on the WXXA, Fox 23, schedule this September.

The Albany television station, the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) of the University at Albany and Berkshire Bank will launch a weekly program focusing on the emerging science of nanotechnology.

"NanoNow" will be available to viewers on television, a full-length Webstream and a video podcast. It will be seen on television Sundays at 10:30 p.m.

The half-hour show, which will be sponsored by Berkshire Bank, will put CNSE’s next-generation educational curriculum and the research and development conducted at its Albany NanoTech complex in the limelight.

The show also will feature interviews with elected officials and high-tech executives, including many from the more than 150 global companies that have research and development partnerships with CNSE.

FOX23 anchors Ann Hughes and John Gray will speak technically. Hughes will present weekly segments that demonstrate the growing impact of nanotechnology on the lives of consumers and a host of industries; Gray will provide weekly updates tracking regional and worldwide developments in nanotechnology.

Members of CNSE’s faculty will offer an inside look at nanotechnology-related science and research.

"NanoNow" will be produced and hosted by Steve Janack, CNSE’s director of communications, who previously spent 15 years in radio and television news as a reporter, anchor and news director. Janack most recently hosted the television program "Tech Valley Report," in which he interviewed technology leaders.
