Three students from the University at Albany's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering won the inaugural Tech Valley Business Plan Competition last week for a next-generation battery storage technology. First prize was $10,000, in addition to $9,000 worth of legal and consulting services.
But the second-place winners, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, might have the most fan-friendly invention. Three RPI students won for their recyclable teddy bear made of fleece that was made from recycled plastic.
