The state University at Albany's College of NanoscaleScience and EngineeringĀ is hosting NanoCareer Day on Oct. 17.
The event is scheduled to be held from 8:30 a.m.to 5 p.m.at the Albany NanoTech research site at 253 Fuller Roadin Albany, N.Y.
More than 300 middle- and high-school students from city, suburban and private schools throughout the region will get a look at careers in nanotechnology.
The daylong event will include presentations by the nanocollege's faculty and hands-on demonstrations explaining the role nanotechnology research has in today's products and products of the future.
Participating schools, and their counties, include: North Albany Academy (Albany); Albany Academy Middle School (Albany); Farnsworth Middle School (Albany); Liberty Partnership Programs (Schoharie); Mohonasen High School (Schenectady); St. Catherine of Siena (Albany); Voorheesville Middle School(Albany); Gardner Dickinson School (Rensselaer); Holy Names Middle School (Albany); and, Magellan Club/Thomas O'Brien Academy of Science and Technology (Albany).
