President Photovoltaic Energy Systems
Mr. Maycock, President of Photovoltaic Energy Systems, Inc (pvenergy.com) started his career in the late 1950's serving as solid state physicist in the Office of Naval Research, Washington DC, first as a Naval Officer and as GS-11 awarding and administrating research contracts in solid state Physics, infrared detectors and systems, energy conversion (photovoltaics and magnetohydrodynamics). He then served as Research Assistant at the Ames Laboratory, Ames Iowa. There he attended the Iowa State University where he earned his Masters degree in Semiconductor Physics and measured the thermal properties of silicon from -300degrees C to 1200 C. From 1965-1967, he served the U.S. Navy, Office of Naval Research, in London as Liaison Scientist GS-13, where he wrote reviews on applied technology in Europe including: fuel cells, computers in Great Britain, and operations research in Italy.
Mr. Maycock worked at Texas Instruments (TI) Dallas Texas (1964-1975), where he was a Senior Business Analyst for Corporate Research & Engineering; where he created and managed approaches to strategic planning, performed venture studies, and product development business models. Next, he served as Manager, Product Planning, Consumer Product Group where he managed a department dedicated to next generation electronic products. (Principal projects included: calculators, digital watches, imagers, clad metal products, cable TV, digital electronics, wire saws, satellite imagery, etc.
In 1975, Mr. Maycock was director of planning for the Division of Solar Energy in the Energy Research and Development Administration. In 1978, he was named Director of The Photovoltaic Division in the Department of Energy. A $1.5 billion program dedicated to stimulating economical and technical viability for the photovoltaic energy option.
Since 1981, Mr. Maycock has been President of Photovoltaic Energy Systems, Inc., providing consulting and information services for the photovoltaic industry including; strategic planning, lectures and workshops, prospectus improvement, market research, team development, product development, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and PV Industry development to clients world wide.
