Assistant Commissioner for Air Resources, Climate Change and Energy New York State Department of Environmental Conservation
Jared Snyder is the Assistant Commissioner for Air Resources, Climate Change and Energy at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. From 1995 until May 2007, Jared was an Assistant Attorney General in the Environmental Protection Bureau of the NY AG's office, where he was the chief of the Affirmative Litigation Section in the Bureau's Albany office. In that capacity, he was responsible for litigation of a variety of air pollution and climate change cases, including enforcement cases in federal court and lawsuits against EPA.
From 1990-95, Jared was a trial attorney with the Environmental Enforcement Section of the US Dept. of Justice, where he was responsible for developing and litigating federal enforcement cases in a variety of media. Jared is a graduate of Harvard Law School (1984) and Cornell University (1981).
