James P. LoGerfo General Partner Earthrise Capital
James LoGerfo is a General Partner at Earthrise Capital, a venture capital firm focused on energy and environmental technologies. His previous experience includes equity research, investment banking and public and private equity asset management. Most recently, James has been serving as a founder and principal of Vortex Energy LLC and Research Focus LLC, through which he provides strategic advisory services to corporate clients and institutional asset managers. He has also been serving as a Managing Director of BOVARO Partners, a boutique investment bank, where he has been working on corporate finance and M&A transactions for privately-held energy and environmental tech companies.
Prior to that, James worked as an energy technology research analyst at Bank of America, where he won recognition in annual Institutional Investor surveys and elsewhere. In addition, he and his team completed numerous energy technology financings and M&A transactions worth over $650 million. James began his Wall Street as a public and private equity investor at the General Motors Pension Fund and Newbrook Capital
James is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree Phi Beta Kappa cum laude with distinction from the University of Washington, and received a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
