Mark Austin is a Venture Partner with Bright Capital. He has over 25 years of experience as a strategic development consultant, serial entrepreneur and seasoned executive. For the last 15 years, as Managing Director of Chandler Reed LLC, he has provided keen insight and execution strategies to the CEOs, Boards and Senior Management of his clients. He combines the talents of a creative strategic thinker and a hands-on executive, with deep cross-functional expertise and breadth of industry experience. His work in the cleantech and alternative energy sector has ranged from energy storage, fuel cells, solar, nanotech, energy efficiency, green building, and composites / advanced materials, to biomass, biofuels, waste-to-energy, gasification, water, hazardous waste detoxification, and sustainability. Previously, he consulted to the Sustainable Energy and Environment Division of UNDP, and started companies in the fields of medical devices and electro-optics. He serves as a Board Advisor with iCLEAN, and an Entrepreneur-In-Residence with NYSERDA.
