Nano 101 for Educators

Event Photos

As the nanotechnology-driven economy of the Capital Region, Tech Valley and New York State continues expanding, the need for a highly educated, skilled and trained workforce is becoming greater than ever. The demand for qualified researchers, scientists, engineers, technicians and others to fill high-tech positions will only increase, making it incumbent upon local and regional schools to produce high-level graduates that are competent, adaptable and ready to take their place in the 21st-century economy.

This innovative school forum featured an introductory presentation and tours of CNSE's Albany NanoTech Complex, a $4.5 billion enterprise that is the most advanced research complex of its kind at any university in the world.  Educators from around New York State were invited to receive an in-depth look at nanotechnology and discuss educational initiatives and partnerships that will give students a window into their future careers.
