About the Tech VIP ProgramThe College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering's (CNSE) Energy and Environmental Technology Applications Center (E2TAC), through its NYSERDA funded iCLEAN and NSF PFI supported CLEAN initiatives, is interested in facilitating the formation of new technology companies or technology transfer by providing support to entrepreneurial faculty, students or teams with ideas, demonstrated concepts, or inventions that may have commercial potential in order to develop an innovation pipeline-the Tech Valley Innovation Pipeline (Tech-VIP).
The mission of the Tech-VIP is to accelerate commercialization of potentially game-changing technologies as well as serve as a think tank for innovation in the region.
iCLEAN invites enthusiastic researchers and students to present their idea(s) at a Tech-VIP workshop to be held on February 10, 2011 at the CESTM auditorium at the College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering. Ideas do not need to have a formal business plan created at this juncture.
AwardsOne to two winning teams will be selected to receive a $5,000 in-kind award that will support them through a series of mentoring sessions or to demonstrate feasibility. This will enable the individuals or teams to vet their ideas and to investigate the possibility of transforming their technology based concepts in to potential companies and/or commercial products.
High potential ideas will be encouraged to conduct an opportunity analysis and prepare business plans to move the ideas through iCLEAN's incubation activities.
