Where the Unique Worlds of Nanotechnology and Art Intersect

The 2nd Annual CNSE NanoArt Exhibit, presented in collaboration with the NanoGraduate Student Organization (Nano GSO) and the UAlbany Fine Arts department, builds on the inaugural event held in 2009.

This year's exhibit featured unique and exciting nanoart created by CNSE students and faculty, and UAlbany Art graduate students. The unveiling of the NanoArt 2010 Exhibit coincided with CNSE's annual celebration of NANOvember on November 10th from 5:30 p.m - 7:00 p.m at CNSE's Albany NanoTech Complex.

Examples of work:

  • Video installation
  • Photography
  • Painting
  • Sculpture
  • SEM images
  • Waterpaint
In addition to the exhibit, this year's NanoArt collaboration features the NanoArt Seminar Series, which provides a forum for artists and scientists to discuss how the lines of art and science intersect.

NanoArt was presented as part of "NEXSTEP," or "Nanotechnology Explorations for Science, Training, and Education Promotion," a partnership between CNSE and KeyBank that includes educational initiatives designed to promote greater understanding of the changing economic and business environment in the Capital Region and New York State being driven by nanotechnology.
