The Business Review: CBS Evening News features nanocollege

CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley featured UAlbany’s College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering last night as a place where it's not just computer chips being created, but jobs.

The segment, titled “Nanotech creating Rust Belt jobs for everyone,” focused on John Keefe, who described himself as a blue collar worker supporting “an army of PhDs,” CBS reported. Keefe worked at a paper factory for 23 years before being laid off.

The segment also featured Alain Kaloyeros, who “built the nanocollege by using a $1 billion state investment to attract another $13 billion from computer industry giants like Intel and IBM.”
