More than 50 "future nanoscientists" between the ages of 13 and 17 spent part of their weekend immersed in nanotechnology at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) as part of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.'s 15th Annual Nationwide Youth Symposium, held March 10 at the UAlbany NanoCollege.

The symposium was presented by the Theta Gamma Sigma Capital District Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. in partnership with CNSE.

Students participated in several engaging activities led by CNSE faculty members and researchers. They learned how to gown up in "bunny suits" that are worn in CNSE's cleanrooms, discovered how to extract a DNA strand from a banana, and built polymer worms to reinforce the central role of polymers in nanotechnology.
