Hazardous Process Materials (HPM) Systems Engineer
   Employment is with the Research Foundation of SUNY, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that administers sponsored program activity for the University at Albany.

Description of Duties:
The Hazardous Process Materials Systems Engineer duties will include, but not be limited to: managing all aspects of the CNSE Total Gas and Chemical Management (TGMS) contract; developing performance metrics and reporting them monthly to CNSE management teams.  These performance reports will include details of all service interruptions, root causes, and action plans to correct these performance issues. Candidate must insure that the supplier is meeting or exceeding all performance metrics.  The candidate will act as the technical liaison between supplier and CNSE on all issues and will be responsible for providing feedback to the procurement department on supplier performance.  Candidate will oversee contract renewals or modifications as required.

The candidate must be able to provide technical direction to TGCM suppliers, CNSE staff, and CNSE tenants on gas and chemical delivery systems.  Candidate must maintain a working knowledge of the design and installation procedures for specialty gas cabinets, chemical distribution units (CDU), distribution lines, valve manifold boxes (VMB's), and control systems.

Candidate must understand the properties and hazards of all HPM's.  Candidate will insure all gas and chemical systems are installed and operated with the proper safety systems in place and insure that all systems meet NYS building and fire code requirements.  Candidate will work closely with the CNSE environmental health and safety team to meet all safety/health requirements and operating procedures.  Candidate will also investigate and report any safety violations, injuries, or near-misses and insure supplier implements appropriate action plans to prevent future occurrences.   

Candidate must be able to develop Scope-of-Work plans for design consultants on HPM systems; support tool installations, and insure gas and chemical delivery systems are designed to meet the demand and specifications of connected tooling.  Candidate will review tool hook-up P & ID's, gas cabinet, and CDU installation drawings to insure designs are created properly.   Candidate must prepare cost estimates and space allocation requirements of proposed systems for presentation to CNSE management.  Candidate must insure designs and specifications are cost effective and chemical and gas delivery systems are utilized in shared workspace where possible.  Candidate must review and punchlist completed systems and maintain all O & M manuals and as-builts.

Candidate will maintain the site utility matrix for specialty gases and chemicals.  Candidate will keep track of connected load vs. capacity; anticipate the need for future capacity and plan accordingly. Candidate must manage space requirements for gas cabinet rooms and chemical distribution rooms and will oversee the layout and space management within these spaces.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization; AND 10 years experience in HPM systems with a major semiconductor manufacturer OR with a supplier to the semiconductor industry. 

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in 300mm tool installation
