Solutions to our sustainability problems begin at the nanoscale.  The Center for Sustainable Ecosystem Nanotechnologies (CSEN) at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) recently toured the local Colonie Landfill to kickoff the CSEN research initiatives on sustainable nanotechnological applications for biofuels and water purification/remediation.  John F. Elter, Executive Director of CSEN and Empire Innovation Professor of Nanoengineering at the CNSE led the first ever documented Zero to Landfill project in 1993 while at Xerox Corporation. (8/13/09)
