2008 Highlights

CNSE Community Day
More than 1,000 children, adults and families throughout Tech Valley received an up-close look at the exciting world of nanotechnology when CNSE held its inaugural Community Day in April. A similar event in November was attended by over 750 people.
  
NANOvember    
CNSE launched the world's first celebration of "NANOvember," a month-long series of events and activities showcasing the exciting world of nanotechnology and the global leadership of the UAlbany NanoCollege in the most important science of the 21st century.  

CNSE and Colonie Center Unveil Unique Nanotechnology Exhibit 
The world's first nanotechnology exhibit to be located in a shopping center was put on display during NANOvember by CNSE and Colonie Center. 

CNSE Holds Fourth High-Tech Job Fair 
For the fourth time in just two years, CNSE hosted a Job Fair to help recruit qualified candidates for high-tech positions.

CLICK '08 
Dr. Alain E. Kaloyeros, Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of CNSE, delivered the keynote address on the emerging science of nanotechnology before a crowd of more than 200 people at the Creative Links Integrating Careers with Knowledge (CLICK) ‘08 Summit.

ATW Tech Valley Seminar Series
CNSE hosted the Alliance of Technology and Women's (ATW) Tech Valley Seminar Series, a unique set of forums focused on women and technology that are designed to educate and mentor women on the opportunities in Tech Valley.

Dr. Kaloyeros Speaks at Schenectady Museum
A crowd of more than 175 people packed the Schenectady Museum and Suits-Bueche Planetarium to hear Dr. Alain E. Kaloyeros, Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of CNSE, discuss nanotechnology. 

CNSE Hosts Fuller Road Public Information Meeting
Working with the Albany County Department of Public Works, CNSE hosted a public information meeting to discuss critical improvements to the Fuller Road highway corridor.

APACS Conference
More than 100 members of the Association for Program Administrators (APACS) for C-STEP and STEP, who represented more than 70 colleges and universities across New York State, visited CNSE as part of the group's Annual Conference.

Albany Institute Holds Annual Gala at CNSE
More than 400 business and community leaders were in attendance when CNSE hosted the Annual Gala held by the Albany Institute of History & Art.

Stakeholders
CNSE provided presentations and tours for members of the Stakeholders, an intergenerational group seeking to stimulate collaboration and development of diverse, sustainable communities throughout the Capital Region.

United Way Young Leaders
Members of the United Way Young Leaders organization visited CNSE for a presentation and tour of the complex.
